Das Leben der Anderen received its deserved amount of appreciation in the world. It won an oscar, a golden globe and a BAFTA award.

A very good war drama follwing young jewish girl who loses her parents in the Second World War. In order to get revenge and help the good cause she starts workign for the underground Dutch resistance. Her taks is infiltrating the SS by starting a relationship with a high ranking German SS officer.

The movie is very popular in Holland, It also gave way to a few international carreers for some of its actors. For instance, Carice van Houten can now be seen in the HBO series Game of Thrones.
